📖 Mother-Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon
I liked Mother-Daughter Murder Night for what it was, but I finished it feeling like something was missing. I honestly can’t pinpoint exactly what that something was—it just never became a story that really grabbed me.
What I did enjoy was the storytelling surrounding the relationships between the women. The mother-daughter relationship really resonated with me, and I also loved seeing the relationship between the grandmother and granddaughter develop. Those family dynamics were probably my favorite part of the entire book.
The mystery itself was enjoyable enough to keep me reading, and I finished the book because I genuinely wanted to know how everything would come together. But even though I enjoyed it, I kept wanting a little more from the story—more suspense, more emotional pull, or maybe just that one moment that would make everything click for me.
It wasn’t a bad book by any means. It was an enjoyable read with relationships I could connect with, but ultimately, it just wasn’t a hit for me.
🌙 Julie’s Final Verdict
Mother-Daughter Murder Night was a solid three-star read for me. I really enjoyed the mother-daughter and grandmother-granddaughter relationships, and those connections gave the story its heart. The mystery kept me interested enough that I wanted to finish, but I was still left wishing the story had given me something more. I enjoyed it, I’m glad I finished it, but it isn’t one that will stick with me as a favorite.
